Cyberbullying
Sadly, cyberbullying is happening a lot. 1 in 3 children have or will experience cyberbullying in their childhood. Most of it takes place through social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. But what is cyberbullying?
What is cyberbullying?
Cyberbullying is when you are bullied via any electronic device. Unlike physical bullying, it's a more anonymous way of doing it and the bully doesn't see the reaction of their victim and can therefore cause more harm. But there are many easy ways you can stop cyberbullying.

There are many ways you can do this. Choose the social media network which you want to block or report someone on and we'll guide you through it.

- A teacher
- A parent
- A guardian
Tips for staying safe on social media
- Stick to the age limits. Most social media platforms will have a minimum age limit (usually 13.) Don’t lie about your age because the age limits are set for a reason.
- Think before you post. If you’re posting a picture of someone else, make sure you have their permission (If they took it with you, they’ll obviously say yes.)
- Be careful who you accept as friends. If you get a friend request, make sure you know who it is. If you're unsure, request to follow them and have a look through their profile (for Snapchat, look at all their snaps and see whether you want to accept them.) If it's someone who you don't know, don't accept it. Don't worry; they won't know you said no.
